All About Emily

 

Emily Jordan Osment was born March 10, 1992) in Los Angeles, California to actor Michael Eugene Osment, and Theresa Osment (née Seifert), a teacher. Her older brother is the Academy Award-nominated actor Haley Joel Osment of The Sixth Sense.

Emily's acting debut was a a commercial for flower delivery company FTD in 1998. Her first film role was in was 1999's The Secret Life of Girls, starring Eugene Levy and Linda Hamilton. In 2002, Emily won the "Young Artist Award" for best performance in a feature film for her preformance as Gerti Giggles in Spy Kids 2: Island of Lost Dreams. But her big break didn't come until she was cast as Lilly Truscott in the Disney Channel series Hannah Montana. The show earned her a Young Artist Award nomination in 2007 for best performance in a TV series (Comedy or Drama). Emily's stared in several movies since landing her role on HM, including R. L. Stine's: The Haunting Hour Volume One: Don't Think About It, Soccer Mom, and the Disney Channel Original Movie, Dadnapped.

Meanwhile, Emily's music career is just starting to take off. In 2007 she sang vocals in Billy Ray Cyrus's song "You've Got a Friend." She recorded a song entitled "I Don't Think About It" for The Haunting Hour. Emily's recorded two classic Disney songs, "If I Didn't Have You" with Mitchel Musso for the DisneyMania 6 CD, and "Once Upon a Dream" for the Sleeping Beauty 50th Anniversary Platinum Edition. She also also recorded an original song called "Hero in Me" for her DCOM, Dadnapped. She is currently working on her EP which is called All the Right Wrongs, which will be released from Wind-up Records on October 27, 2009.
